HALF DAY GUIDED MURRAY RIVER ADVENTURE

Embark on an unforgettable half-day kayak adventure along the tranquil waters of the Murray River, beginning at the picturesque Tintaldra Hotel and concluding at the serene Neils Bend Reserve. This journey promises breathtaking scenery, peaceful paddling, and a delectable lunch amidst nature!

As you set out from the historic Tintaldra Hotel, your experienced guide will provide a brief safety briefing and equip you with all the necessary gear. Feel the excitement build as you push off from the riverbank, gliding smoothly into the gentle currents of the Murray River.

The first part of your journey unveils a stunning countryside, with lush green river flats and towering gum trees casting their dappled shadows on the water’s surface. Keep your eyes peeled for native wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats, and a variety of bird species that call this pristine ecosystem home.

After a stop to stretch the legs and have a snack you continue to paddle downstream, where your guide will share with you fascinating tales of the river’s history, from its Indigenous heritage to its role as a vital lifeline for early settlers. Learn about the unique flora and fauna that thrive in this environment, gaining a deeper appreciation for the natural wonders that surround you.

After a leisurely paddle, you’ll arrive at the idyllic Neil’s Bend Reserve, a tranquil oasis nestled along the river’s edge. Here, you’ll disembark from your kayaks and gather for a well-deserved lunch. Feast on a delicious picnic spread prepared with locally sourced ingredients, savouring the flavours as you bask in the peaceful ambiance of your surroundings.

After refuelling with food and refreshments, it’s time to reluctantly bid farewell to Neil’s Bend Reserve and enjoy the bus ride back to Tintaldra Hotel. Reflect on the memories made and the beauty witnessed during your half-day kayak tour, knowing that the spirit of the Murray River will linger in your heart long after your journey comes to an end.

We cover 24km on this all-downstream journey! The cost is only $150 per person.

What an easy way to go kayaking – transport, boats, gear, lunch and drinks are all provided. Just get in and paddle. The boats are very stable, easy to paddle and the scenery along the upper Murray was gorgeous. If the day is a bit hot and sunny like when I went, don’t forget a wide-brimmed hat, dark sunglasses and to jump in for plenty of swims along the way.
