FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do I need to bring with me?

We recommend bringing your sunglasses, a hat, bottled water, sunblock and shoes that can get wet. Don’t forget a towel and swimmers too!

What if I have never kayaked before?

You will get comprehensive instructions on how to use the kayaks and safety equipment. Most of our customers are first timers, so having no experience is no problem.

Can you fall out of the kayaks easily?

The kayaks we use are SEAK Swift Kayaks, which are very stable and one of the safest sit on top kayaks you can get. The Swift is designed with the beginner in mind, so falling out of these kayaks is very hard.

Do you supply all the equipment?

Yes. We supply all the equipment. All you need to bring is: – Swimmers – Sunglasses – Footwear that can get wet (eg. Thongs, sandals) – Hat – Towel – Sun block – Bottle of water.

Is it an issue if I can't swim?

You must be able to swim to participate in any of our tours.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes Single Kayaks are rated at 110kg and Double Kayaks are rated at 270kg.

Should I wear sunglasses on the tour?
We recommend you do, but be prepeared to lose them if you fall out. If your sunglasses are worth hundreds of dollars, maybe grab a cheap pair or make sure to use sunglass straps.
Do you supply life jackets?
Life Jackets (PFDs or Personal Flotation Devices) are included in pricing for all hires and tours.
Do you refund if the Tour is cancelled?
You will get a 100% refund or credit for another time if we cancel the tour.

Paddlers over 110kg will need to be in a double kayak. Will anyone in your group be requiring one of these kayaks?

Great fun! Such a fantastic way to see the river from a completely new perspective.
Mick was an excellent guide, both in terms of how to paddle etc in the kayak, and out on the river too. The tour was very well planned and efficiently run too.
Really recommend it. Was a very relaxing paddle down the river. We are already looking forward to planning our next kayak adventure with Mick again!
