IMF Kayak Tours & Hire

If there’s a way of winding down whilst getting exercise at the same time, then this is it!!

Watching the sun sink below the horizon is one of the most memorable experiences imaginable… and what better place to enjoy the view than from your own kayak on the Murrumbidgee River! The Sunset Kayak Tour is truly a spectacular experience, offering views of the vast, unending palette of purples, pinks, reds, and oranges that paint the famous Riverina Sunsets.

This adventure is Ideal for friends, families, and couples seeking a unique and unforgettable paddling experience. We take excellent care of our paddlers – all necessary paddling and safety equipment is included with the tour. Full instruction and safety briefing is provided before launching, plus a little more instruction on the water to make the tour easier for everyone and so that all are comfortable, safe, and happy on the water.

First time paddlers are always welcome! Our equipment is top of the line and our Sunset Kayak Tours are always kept to a maximum of 20 paddlers (larger groups can be accommodated upon request).

Highly Recommend to anyone. Service is impeccable, great communication and lots of fun. Would give a higher rating if it was available. Value for money and great way to relax. I am definitely an ongoing supporter.

What do I need to bring with me?

We recommend bringing your sunglasses, a hat, bottled water, sunblock and shoes that can get wet. Don’t forget a towel and swimmers too!

What if I have never kayaked before?

You will get comprehensive instructions on how to use the kayaks and safety equipment. Most of our customers are first timers, so having no experience is no problem.

Can you fall out of the kayaks easily?

The kayaks we use are SEAK Swift Kayaks, which are very stable and one of the safest sit on top kayaks you can get. The Swift is designed with the beginner in mind, so falling out of these kayaks is very hard.

Do you supply all the equipment?

Yes. We supply all the equipment. All you need to bring is: – Swimmers – Sunglasses – Footwear that can get wet (eg. Thongs, sandals) – Hat – Towel – Sun block – Bottle of water.

Is it an issue if I can't swim?

You must be able to swim to participate in any of our tours.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes Single Kayaks are rated at 110kg and Double Kayaks are rated at 270kg.

Is there an age limit?

Not so much an age limit but it depends on your fitness level and abilities. If you are over the age of 60 be aware that the tours can be a challenge for some people! You need to be able to sit in the kayak for a prolonged time and be able to get in and out several times. If you have exisiting back, shoulder or hip problems, this tour may not be for you. If unsure, please call us and have a chat to us!

Do you take children?

Yes, we certainly do! We cater especially for families with kids aged between 4 and 12 years old able to go in a double kayak with an adult. 12 years and older are welcome on a tour if paddling with an adult and able to go in a single kayak on their own.

Should I wear sunglasses on the tour?
We recommend you do, but be prepeared to lose them if you fall out. If your sunglasses are worth hundreds of dollars, maybe grab a cheap pair or make sure to use sunglass straps.
Do you supply life jackets?
Life Jackets (PFDs or Personal Flotation Devices) are included in pricing for all hires and tours.
Do you refund if the Tour is cancelled?
You will get a 100% refund or credit for another time if we cancel the tour.
Can I book a private tour?
Yes! Private tours can be organised. Please email us at or call 0429 952 140 for availability and rates.

Paddlers over 110kg will need to be in a double kayak. Will anyone in your group be requiring one of these kayaks?

We had a fantastic experience when hiring kayaks from In Motion Fitness. Mick had great communication in organising the best kayaking experience for us prior to our trip up from Melbourne (dependent on our experience level) and even dropped off and picked up the kayaks from different places for us. Could not recommend more!
